Lawn Mower Repair in Kansas City, Overland Park & Olathe, KS
Proper Kansas City lawn mower repair and maintenance is a task many homeowners forget to do.
Luckily the team at Heritage Lawns & Irrigation can help with lawnmower maintenance as well as lawn mower repair in Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, KS, and the entire KC metro!
When lawn mowing season is over in the KC metro, many people park the lawnmower in the back of the garage or shed and promptly forget about it. Unfortunately, neglecting to empty the gas tank and perform other end-of-season lawn mower care will not only shorten your mower’s lifespan but can lead to expensive repairs.
Gas left in a mower all winter can clog the carburetor as well, which can also cause the need for lawn mower repairs in Overland Park, Lenexa, Olathe, Shawnee, KCK, Prairie Village, Leawood, KS, and throughout the Kansas City area.
If you have an electric lawn mower that has a battery-powered starter, you should charge the battery several times throughout the winter. Otherwise, it will fail much sooner because it will not hold a full charge.
While a car can fully charge its battery when running, lawn mower engines cannot. If you need local repairs or maintenance on your lawnmower in the KC metro, give Heritage Lawns & Irrigation a call and we’ll do it for you.

Steps In Our KC Lawn Mower Maintenance Service:
1. Stabilize The Fuel
We add a stabilizer to the fuel to help your engine run cleaner. We run it long enough for the fuel to reach the carburetor to make sure it doesn’t get clogged.
2. Change The Lawn Mower Oil
We add fresh oil to extend the life of the engine.
3. Charge The Battery
If your mower or tractor has a battery-powered starter system, we will charge the battery.
4. Clean The Deck
Scrape grass clippings from the underside of the mower deck to prevent it from rusting. Spray the cleaned deck with silicone spray to help prevent future buildup.
5. Service The Air Filter
Refer to the owner’s manual to see if you should clean or replace the filter and how frequently.
6. Spark Plug Inspection/Replacement
Spark plugs typically need replacing every 100 hours of operation. If there are signs of corrosion, we replace them. You’ll know right away from the corrosion if yours is spent. If the plug is in good shape, we will remove it, pour an ounce of motor oil into the cylinders, crank the engine a few times, and then reinstall the plug.
7. Sharpen Mower Blades
Save yourself the hassle next spring by getting your blades sharpened now. Keep a second blade on hand for when the first one is being sharpened. Change blades every month during the mowing season to keep dull blades from butchering grass.
8. Replace The Fuel Filter
Mowers usually don’t have a fuel filter, though many lawn tractors do.
When you get your mower back after our winterization service, it’s fresh, charged, cleaned, primed, and has a sharp set of blades that won’t damage your grass. If your lawn mower could use a little TLC, give Heritage a call and we’ll come to pick it up, fix it up, and deliver it to your door. We offer local lawn mower repair service in Kansa City, Olathe, Lenexa, Overland Park, Shawnee, Leawood, Prairie Village, KS, and the entire KC metro! It doesn’t get much easier or more convenient than that.

About Our Kansas City Lawn Mower Repair Experts
Heritage Lawns & Irrigation was started in January of 1995 in Overland Park, KS. What our owner, Wes Ory, knew was that he could do better than the other lawn companies he had spent the previous 12 years working for. Some small lawn mower repair companies were great at horticulture but bad at business, some large companies were great at business but bad at customer service.
Wes knew that if he combined the lawn care and irrigation skills he had learned at these companies and focused on the client, we could build an organization that would help more people than he could ever do on his own. Now, more than 18+ years later, our team of professionals helps thousands of homeowners by following a clear mission and by providing the best lawn care, seeding, aeration services, and lawn mower repair in Kansas City, Lenexa, Prairie Village, Leawood, Shawnee, Olathe, KS, and the Overland Park area.
