Tip for that First Green Lawn on the Block
Now, before your lawn comes out of dormancy, mow and bag the lawn shorter than normal. Two inches tall is good for bluegrass and fescue lawns and this is for the first mowing only. This will remove all of that dead, brown stuff and let the new green show through. Don't forget to set your mower back to the normal height before putting it away. Then, after your early spring treatment, give your lawn a nice, deep watering. This will help the lawn come out of dormancy and allow it to shine through.

ECO-PRIDE
Heritage Lawns & Irrigation is proud to introduce Eco-Pride, the next generation in lawn treatments. Eco-Pride lawn care is a holistic approach combining the best of chemistry, physics, biology, and microbiology with sound turf and landscape management practices.
For the last 5 years, we have been researching hundreds of products and application technologies in search of a more environmentally friendly, but still effective, lawn care program. The traditional approach of "see the weed, spray the weed and repeat" was effective, but it never addressed the root cause of why we have the weed and it wasn't a long term sustainable practice. On the other hand, organic lawn companies focus on the problems in the soil. If these problems are corrected, then there won't be any symptoms (weeds). But the failure of organic lawn care is that it can take 3 years to correct the soil to a point where you can start seeing results. With homeowners moving every five years on average, it is not practical or realistic to expect someone to wait that long to see results.
Eco-Pride lawn care treats the symptoms (i.e., weeds) for immediate response while addressing the problems in the soil for long term results. This combination of organic farming practices and sound turf management is the next generation in lawn treatments. Eco-Pride programs do use synthetic products when needed; however, additions and techniques can be used to lessen the negative effect of these products while we move toward the goal of a healthy, sustainable lawn.
What this means to you is progressively less synthetic product will be used on your lawn and landscape each year as the health of your soil is restored. You also don't have to be embarrassed by a weedy lawn while you explain to your neighbors how you're trying to be more environmentally friendly. You can take pride in your beautiful lawn while doing your part to protect your corner of the world.
We are excited to be the first lawn service in Kansas City to bring biological lawn care concepts to the market with our Eco-Pride program.

WHO'S YOUR REAL FRIEND TEST:
This really works! If you don't believe it, just try this experiment:
Put both your dog and your spouse in the trunk of the car for one hour. When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you?
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise, they won't come to yours.
