Rain, rain — go away . . . .

or moderate a little. I can't complain about the temperatures, but all of the rain is causing problems. The Johnson County area has received between 7.25 and 7.87 inches of rain in the last three weeks alone. This is leading to fungus in the lawns, trees and shrubs. I see two scenarios setting up; one is we stay below normal temperatures and above normal rainfall. In 2004 this happened and the lawns grew through any diseases. On the other hand, if it gets hot and dry and the plants stress, there could be a lot of damage. If you have had disease problems in the past, or are concerned about them now or in the future, contact us.

Did you know that rain sensors can be added to almost any sprinkler system? This handy device mounts on your gutters and wirelessly sends a signal to your controller to turn the system off when the conditions are too moist. We have all seen sprinklers running while it is raining cats and dogs. It just doesn't make sense, does it? Now we can add the rain sensor to almost any system to help prevent this. Contact us for more information.

Have you heard this one?

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy takes out his phone and calls emergency services. He gasps "My friend is dead! What can I do?!"
The operator says "Calm down, sir. First, let's make sure he's dead."
There is silence and then a gunshot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says, "Ok, now what?"
